Founded in 2017, AlphaOmega is a dynamic and rapidly growing start-up based in Luxembourg which provides fund registration, regulatory reporting and dissemination services.

AlphaOmega is a tech-driven start-up, we have built a scalable, distributed platform supporting the production of millions of regulatory reports that we develop following a continuous delivery approach. Most of our applications are developed in Python deployed on an OpenShift cluster processing data ingested from a wide diversity of source and stored in our data warehouse built on MSSQL, MongoDB, and S3 buckets.

your mission

As a Senior Database Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficiency, security, and reliability of our database systems. You will:

Maintain and optimize multiple SQL and NoSQL databases across development, pre-production, and production environments.
Continuously monitor and enhance database performance, ensuring high availability and responsiveness.
Oversee database changes in alignment with feature development and deployment processes.
Document and refine existing database structures, improving maintainability and transparency.
Identify business domains and define separable aggregates to help modularize our monolithic database.
Manage database access control, ensuring security and compliance best practices.

your profile

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in ComputerScience, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Hands-on experience in designing and managing databases for distributed and microservices-based applications.
Strong expertise in triggers, database profilers, stored procedures, and PL/SQL.
A solid understanding of database modeling principles and best practices.
Proficiency in database management and change management tools, such as MSSQL, SQL profilers, and Alembic.
Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.

Bonus points for:

A strong grasp of database security strategies.
Familiarity with CI/CD database integration workflows.
Exposure to big data technologies (Ignite, Hadoop, Spark, or equivalent).
